I got to be part of Seattle Rock Orchestra in 2010

Seattle Rock Orchestra is an ensemble of some of the best local Northwestern musicians.  They get together every so often to recreate albums at places like The Moore Theater and those hippie music things out in the Washington State desert.

Despite their reputation for quality musicians, I somehow ended up in the choir of the Seattle Rock Orchestra’s production of The Beach Boys’ “Pet Sounds” album.  It was MAGICAL!  It was an especially inspiring experience, because both Brian Wilson and I have a bipolar diagnosis.  I have revisited the Pet Sounds album many times since that night to draw further inspiration for my project.  Below is a little article I found about the night if you care to read more.

If you are in the area, go see Seattle Rock Orchestra shows and give them lots of money. They are totally a good investment, whether you’re spending a few bucks for a ticket, or wanting to donate money to help these amazing Northwestern musicians bring even more awe inspiring productions into existence.
